GEO refers to Generative Engine Optimization and it’s main focus is to appear your content or website on AI tools such as ChatGpt and Google Gemini. It’s main focus is to gain attention or reference through AI tools when users ask questions.

 

Difference between SEO and GEO

 

SEO is mainly used for traditional search engines such as Google and Bing whereas, GEO is used for AI powered search engines such as Gemini,Perplexity etc.

SEO usually provides the list of links for which a particular search is being made whereas GEO provides the direct information of the website and also uses it’s sources if needed.  SEO mainly focuses on keywords and rankings whereas GEO focuses on accurate and well structured answers.

SEO focuses on ranking your website in search engines whereas GEO focuses on showing the content on AI generated answers which results in more online visibility if SEO and GEO are used together.
